Because of their unique shape, our candles need extra care while burning. Please read these points before you light them.
Please note: the candle drips while burning. Always place it on a heat-resistant surface.

- Take the candle out of the packaging and remove all packaging material.
- Trim the wick to about 1 cm, also when you relight the candle.
- Let the candle cool down before you relight it.

Frequently asked questions
Why is rapeseed wax the standard for Luminlique?
We choose rapeseed wax because it is a renewable, European alternative to paraffin with a lower ecological footprint. That fits the way we want to do business.
How long does the candle burn?
That depends on the conditions and on how the candle is stacked. Roughly: small candle 9 hours, medium candle 11 hours.
How do you get the best burning experience?
The first time, let the candle burn until the whole top layer has melted. Trim the wick to about 1 cm before every use. This gives a calm, steady flame and prevents soot.
What if the candle does not burn evenly?
Because of the unique shapes, burning can vary. Put out the candle, let the wax set completely and trim the wick to 1 cm again before relighting it.
What if the flame is too small or too large?
A flame that is too large or flickers usually means the wick is too long: put out the candle and trim the wick to 1 cm. A flame that is too small often happens when the wick is cut too short or drowns in the liquid wax. In that case, carefully pour away a little liquid wax.
What if the candle drips?
Because of the shapes and the amount of wax, these candles can drip. Draughts or a sloping surface make this worse. Blow out the candle, let the wax set and trim the wick to 1 cm before relighting it. Always place the candle on a heat-resistant surface.
